- Wash your hands with soap and warm water.
- Scrub your hands, making sure to clean between fingers and under fingernails. You should spend at least 15 seconds or about as long as it takes to sing one verse of "Happy Birthday" or recite the letters of the alphabet.
- Rinse your hands under running water.
- Dry your hands with a clean paper towel and turn off the facet using that paper towel.
Please set a good example at home and encourage your child to wash their hands. Of course, I do want to stress that even with these extra efforts, children will get ill. If your child has a bad cold and is sneezing and coughing alot, please do your part to keep the germs from spreading in the classroom: keep them at home until their symptoms diminish.
In addition to encouraging your children to wash their hands, remind them not to rub their noses and eyes, which is a good portal for viruses to enter the body.
