Guidelines for Room Parents

To be a room parent (or volunteer in any capacity on school grounds) you must submit a CORI form to authorize a background check.

Food in the Classroom

Food in the classroom (for celebrations or as part of a craft or project) is an important issue because of student allergies and Nixon's emphasis on encouraging the consumption of nutritional foods wherever possible. It is critical that room parents are aware of the school's policies that are designed to protect allergy-sensitive students and set a positive nutritional example.

The policy requires any food being brought into the classroom to be approved 2 days in advance by the teacher and the school nurse using the form below.
