Food Pantry – September 19, 2008
From Pat Mullen, Sudbury Food Pantry:
"it has been a lean summer, with reduced availability in quantity and variety from the Greater Boston Food bank and less being donated by stores and manufactures. The attached pictures are what greetedus when we came in on Monday. When we left it was not much better as we only had some tomato and chicken noodle soup, green beans, carrots and peas to stock as well as 24 cans of spaghetti sauce and 24 cans of pineapple and some kidney beans."
We are in need of most everything the specifics are on the attached list. The one item we do not need is PEANUT BUTTER. Peter Pan donated a very large amount to the Greater Boston Food bank because the color printing on the labels was distorted. We received over 1,300 jars (28 oz.) of peanut butter.
Note we are in desperate need of folded Brown paper bags. This summer we had to buy bags. I would rather use our donations to purchase food.
Your ongoing support of the Food pantry is very much appreciated."
