Nixon Lunch and Recess Monitors Needed

We have very few volunteers from 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades and we have a need for all grades on Fridays.

We are again looking for volunteers to help cover lunch and recess for the new school year. Each volunteer will monitor recess first and then continue in to the cafeteria to supervise lunch for one grade. We are looking for one volunteer for each grade for each day. The shifts are as follows:

Grade Recess           Lunch

2nd 11:00-11:25         11:25-11:50             

1st 11:30-11:55         11:55-12:20             

3rd 12:00-12:25         12:25-12:50             

4th 12:30-12:55         12:55-1:20

5th 1:00-1:25             1:25-1:50

Volunteers will be asked to attend a one-time training session. Parents may volunteer as frequently as their schedules allows. For example, once per month, once per week and once every other week are common shifts. You may also shift among grades if you have children in different grades. All parent volunteers are required to have a current CORI form on file with the front office. If you have questions as to the status of your CORI form, please check with the front office. We are looking to fill out the schedule from September to January.

In addition, the 3rd and 4th grade teachers have asked that we recruit a second parent volunteer for recess only. Once room parents have been selected they will take over this scheduling.
