Summer Math Packets At the end of the school year, students entering grades 2 – 6 will be bringing home summer math practice packets. For students entering grades 3 – 6, you will receive a calendar for the months of July and August with a math problem or question for each day, designed to provide ongoing review and practice for some basic skills, vocabulary, and problem solving. These will also be posted on the Sudbury Public Schools website, in case yours gets misplaced.
Although the questions are presented daily, how your child approaches the task of completing the calendar will vary according to your summer schedule. Your child may do a problem a day, do three or four at a time, do a week’s worth at once, or cluster problems before or after a vacation trip. What’s important is to include some ongoing math practice and math conversation into your summer activities.
A Certificate of Completion will be presented to those students who return the packet to their new teacher in September.
