Storyteller, Moonbounce, Carnival Games all at Relay For Life!

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Lincoln/Sudbury will take place on May 17-18, 2008 at the Peter Noyes School Field in Sudbury.  Relay For Life is a 16-hour team event dedicated to the fight against cancer; it is also the signature activity of the American Cancer Society.  The activities for the event will begin at 4 pm, with the Relay officially beginning at 6pm with the Survivor ceremony.  At 9pm, the luminaries surrounding the track will be lit in honor and memory of loved ones.  The Relay will conclude with closing ceremonies at 8am on Sunday morning.

The Relay For Life is an incredibly moving event that allows the community to Celebrate cancer survivors, Remember those who have been lost to cancer and to Fight Back by helping ACS raise funds to find a cure for cancer.  You do not have to be a part of a team to attend the Relay For Life and you do not have to spend 16 hours at the event.  We invite families of the communities of Sudbury and Lincoln to stop by and take part in the fun and experience Relay For Life.  We also invite any cancer survivors to take part in the Survivor Opening ceremony and reception – please let us know if you or anyone you know would like to participate in this significant part of the Relay.

Featured activities for young children include a performance by Storyteller and Family Entertainer Tim Stetson of “From Page to Play” (4:30-6:00pm), moonbounce, facepainting, cakewalk and carnival games.

We invite you and your family to visit the Relay website and to join us on May 17th  at Peter Noyes. http://main.acsevents.org/rflmalincolnsudbury

Finally, we are in need of volunteers during the Relay to help with the activities, registration and other tasks.  If you are able to volunteer for a couple of hours, please contact us as soon as possible.
